1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Clip Card, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Clip Card Is
Clip Card is a platform that allows customers to maintain a digital hair profile ("Clip Card") documenting their haircut and color service history, photos, and stylist notes. Barbers and stylists ("Professionals") can create and manage client cards, build a portfolio ("Clipfolio"), and be discovered through our AI-powered search. Customers own their hair history. Professionals own their portfolio.
3. Your Account
You must be 13 or older to use Clip Card. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of others without permission.
4. Customer Content & Card Ownership
Your Clip Card and all associated photos, tags, color formula data, and notes belong to you. Professionals may add notes and photos to your card during a service appointment, but you retain ownership. You may delete your card or account at any time. Publishing your card to Clipwork is always your choice — Professionals cannot publish your card without your action.
5. Professional Accounts
Professionals represent that they are licensed or practicing barbers or stylists. By using Clip Card you agree not to misrepresent your credentials or create cards for clients without their knowledge or consent. Professionals may associate their account with a shop or business location. Shop information, including business name, address, and geographic coordinates, is stored to enable location-based discovery features.
6. Photos
By uploading photos to Clip Card you confirm you have the right to share them. You grant Clip Card a limited license to store and display your photos within the platform. We do not sell or share your photos with third parties. Photos of clients uploaded by Professionals must be of actual clients who have consented to being photographed.
7. Location Data
To provide location-based features including shop search and professional discovery, Clip Card collects and stores location information. This includes:
• City and state provided during account setup or profile editing
• Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) derived from your city and state via Google Geocoding API
• Shop location data including business name, address, and coordinates selected through Google Places search
• Search queries entered into our professional search feature, which are logged to improve search quality
Location data is used to show you relevant nearby professionals and to help clients find professionals in their area. We do not track your real-time device location. You may update your location at any time in Settings.
8. Third-Party Services
Clip Card uses the following third-party services to provide features:
• Google Maps Platform — used for shop search autocomplete, address validation, and location geocoding. Your search queries and selected location data are processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions
• Anthropic — AI-powered style consultation and search parsing
• OpenAI — AI image generation in Clip Studio
• Sentry — error monitoring
• PostHog — anonymous usage analytics
• Resend — transactional email delivery
9. Clipwork — Public Feed & Search
When you choose to publish a card to Clipwork, that card becomes publicly visible. You can unpublish at any time and it will be removed from the public feed. Published cards credit the Professional who created them. Professional profiles and Clipfolios are publicly searchable. Search queries entered by users are logged anonymously to improve search relevance and are not associated with individual user identities in reports.
10. Color Formula Data
Color service records, including technique, tone, level, and placement, are stored as part of your card history. This data belongs to the client and is used solely to provide service continuity between appointments. Professionals may access color history for clients who have linked their cards.
11. Payments & Subscriptions
Professional accounts may require a paid subscription. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. Refunds are handled on a case by case basis — contact us at support@clipcard.hair.
12. Privacy
We collect only the information needed to provide the service. We do not sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy at clipcard.hair/privacy.
13. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use Clip Card to harass, impersonate, or harm others. You may not upload illegal content, spam other users, attempt to hack or reverse engineer the platform, or use the service for any purpose other than hair services documentation.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.
15. Disclaimers
Clip Card is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not responsible for the quality of services provided by Professionals found through our platform.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clip Card's liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.
18. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
